Other Ways to Help

Are you looking for some creative ways to make a difference? Besides volunteering your time or donating goods to Made by Momma,  we’ve found other ways you can help support us and the work we do! You may not realize this, but Made by Momma is run entirely by volunteers and we do not receive any government funding to support our programs.  The money needed for our operating expenses comes from our own fundraising initiatives AND from people just like YOU! Check out some of the ways below that you can help us help more mommas and families with our services.

Sponsor Energy

Did you know that you can now use your power for a good cause?

Cut your bills while warming hearts. Support Made by Momma while lowering your power & gas costs. Sponsor Energy donates $50 for every signup! If you switch your electricity account to Sponsor Energy we will get a $50.00 donation for every new sign up and YOU will get a fantastic rate on your utility accounts! These rates are less than the competitors and you can “Use your Power for Good” as your household will also be empowering us, Made by Momma with every kWh of electricity you consume – at zero extra charge to you or to our charity. This is because Sponsor Energy makes a donation of their profits on your energy usage to the charity that you choose. Click here to find out how!



These are just a few of the many ways you can help support us. Every little bit helps! If you have other ideas for us, please let us know!

Some ideas suggested to us include:
~ Check with your employer – did you know a lot of companies will donate cash to the charity for the hours
you volunteer! 
~ Have a community garage sale and donate the revenue to Made by Momma
~ Mmmm – put on a bake sale or lemonade stand 
~ Collect donated items and create an online auction
~ Host a home party (tupperware, candles, food, jewelry etc.) and donate the proceeds or free products to Made by Momma. 
~ Have a toonie kids birthday party (guests bring a toonie – the birthday child keeps a loonie and the other loonie is donated! )
~ Host a “Baby Shower” – where guests bring donations for the mothers we help – diapers, wipes, baby clothes, formula etc.
~ Enter Made by Momma into local or national contests for support, prizes or recognition.
~ Start a Food Drive at work or with your friends! Collect new/unopened baking ingredients (baking powder, salt, sugar, flour, etc) and GladWare storage containers, Extra-Large Ziplock Freezer bags for us to use to prepare/package meals for families.
~ Host a “Cook-Off” or a “Bake-Off” with your friends or co-workers and help us fill our freezer with healthy homemade meals & baking!
~ Charity Run – support Made by Momma by nominating us as your charity of choice in upcoming runs & races!
~ Host a luncheon or a dinner party in honour of Made by Momma and ask your friends to bring donations to support one of our programs!

We also welcome any suggestions for holding your own fundraiser on behalf of Made by Momma and are happy to partner with you and/or supply brochures and signage if needed. We really cannot do the volunteer work that we do without your help. THANK YOU!
