What an exciting day we had at Golf for Girls along with the Kinette Club of Calgary at River Spirit Golf Club.
Lisa Bowes from CTV and event organizer Heather Dougall put on a fantastic day filled with many local athletes and celebrities coming together to raise money for Made by Momma.
The day was full and fabulous from start to finish. We got some great golf tips (and funny fish stories) from Lisa Longball, enjoyed a great lunch courtesy of Spolumbos, watched a fun golf-themed fashion show, dinner from the River Spirit team was delicious, PLUS we got to golf! (or something “like” golf)
Our Made by Momma team was matched up with the wonderful Darrel Janz from CTV and while he could definitely out-golf us, he was a great teammate, very encouraging, funny and lovely to spend the day with – a perfect match.
HUGE thanks to all of the sponsors and donors that made this day possible and to Cardel Homes especially for making a $10,000 donation (WOW!) and the Stampede City Kinsmen for donating $1000.00 towards our programs. The work we do simply could not be possible without support like this. We can’t forget a special shout-out to Divine Creations for the amazing flowers and centerpieces that were donated – stunning!
A very special thank you to Kendra, one of our clients, and her family who came out to share her story and let everyone know why our services are needed. A big hug to a certain race-car driver who really went out of his way to make Kendra’s family feel special. (I’m getting a little teary just thinking about your selflessness) Thank you.
At the end of the day, the registrations, sponsors, live auction, silent auction and WestJet raffle raised $34,364.30 for our organization – AMAZING!
It takes a lot of time and a well-oiled team to pull off one of these events and our heartfelt thanks go out to all of the celebrities, athletes, Lisa & Heather, the Kinette Club of Calgary and our Made by Momma volunteers for making this day so successful.
