On February 15, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. North Hill Centre is hosting a Stroller-A-Thon to help give back to Made by Momma.
This unique event will be taking place at North Hill Centre located at 1632 14 Avenue NW. All donations raised will be given to Made by Momma to meet the needs of our clients. Even though this event is called a Stroller-A-Thon a stroller is not required. In fact, kids of all ages, moms, dads and grandparents are encouraged to participate and show support for families in our community facing adversity.
To register you can pick up pledge forms from our Made by Momma Resource Centre or visit the North Hill Centre administration office between the dates of January 12 to February 13, 2015. At the administration office you can pick up pledge forms and cute baby bottles to collect your donations.
There are several ways you can help with this event:
- Pick up a pledge form and partake in the actual Stroller-A-Thon on February 15, 2015. Collect pledges ahead of time for strolling around the mall. It is approximately 1500 steps to walk around North Hill Centre once. How many times can you make it around the mall?
- Pick up one of our cute baby bottles and fill it up with loose change to put towards your donation.
- Visit the pop-up baby store and drop off any of the following new donations that they are collecting on our behalf:
- Gift Cards – For purchasing needed items for our Resource Centre/Families in Need
- Transit Bus Tickets – For families that travel via public transportation.
- Diapers – All sizes are needed but size 4, 5, 6 are the most requested.
- Baby Wipes – New & unopened
- Baby Formula – New, unopened, not expired
- Baby Food – New, unopened, not expired
- New Car Seats – A top need for financially struggling mommas
- New Strollers – These are big requests but a wonderful gift for a family that travels by foot/transit
- New Baby & Kids Clothing – Every child deserves at least one new outfit
- New Toys – Every child receives a new toy on their birthday and at Christmas
Please note that 100% of our clients receive gently used donations. However, we do strive to make sure that every child receives at least one new clothing outfit and a new toy on special occasions. For this particular event, we are only asking for new items to be donated as we will not have the resources onsite to review and process gently used items. We thank you for considering this generous request.
Why not give back to your community and come visit us at North Hill Centre on February 15, 2015? Get your kids involved, invite your friends, family, neighbors and the moms from your playgroup!
All of our #StrollerAThon participants will be entered in a draw to win a $500.00 “Mommy and Me” prize package! For those that Walk, stroll, strut, fill a baby bottle with coins or bring a needed donation to our pop up North Hill “Baby” Centre between 9 am and 10:30 am on Sunday, February 15th will be entered to win a “Mommy and Me” prize package. The draw will be at 10:30 and you must be in attendance to win the package which includes a $100 gift card at Sears, a $100 gift card at Safeway, a $100 gift card at Shoppers Drug Mart and especially for Mommy a $200 gift card to Angles Hair & Spa. The total value of the prize is $500!
All proceeds will be given to Made by Momma to help us provide the best support we can for families in need. Donated gifts will be directed as needed to clients in need.
Cash/Cheque Donations over $20.00 will be eligible for a charitable tax receipt if requested.
