Call your friends, get your song requests ready, and get your tickets for our 13th Annual Fall FUNdraiser to help local families impacted by situations of adversity and crisis!

The 13th Annual Made by Momma Fall FUNdraiser will be held Thursday, November 7th, at the fun & fabulous Aussie Rules Foodhouse & Bar! Plan a girls’ night out, get your work team together or come for a great night out with your spouse, your neighbours or a big group of friends – and join us for an evening of fun in support of vulnerable Calgary families. 100% of the funds raised at this event will directly help families in need in our community!

Your ticket into the festivities includes live entertainment by the awesome Aussie Rules Dueling Pianos team, and a delicious dinner with dessert! The evening also includes an exciting online auction, a 50/50 Draw, Balloon Pops, Golden Ticket, and the Mystery Envelope Game! We’ll also be featuring the wine pull that everyone loves – where everybody wins!

Doors open at 6:30pm
Dinner at 7:30pm
Pianos at 8:00pm
The auction will close at approximately 10pm
Pianos play until 11:00pm

Back to school isn’t “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” for everyone. For some families, back to school can be riddled with financial stress and worries. For others in crisis, even finding the time to shop for the back to school necessities is just one more thing to think about.

You can help us make sure that every Calgary kid is set up for success when they return to the classroom! Our August donation drive is collecting NEW school supplies, clothing and snack foods!

10 CAN Round Up 2024

Round up 10 CANs (or more!) of our most needed non-perishables over the 10 days of Stampede!

Welcome to the Made by Momma 10 CAN Roundup! This is a simple grassroots effort to help others in our community when they need it the most. It has been a very challenging year for so many families, the demand for our services is at an all-time high, and our community pantry cupboards are bare. The Calgary Stampede is most often a time to whoop-it-up and enjoy the fun with friends and family – but for others, it can be a time of loneliness, sadness and stress if they are facing situations of adversity and crisis. We know it takes a village and together we can make a difference to these families.

The challenge is simple; collect 10 CANS for those that can’t!

1. Over the 10 days of Stampede we challenge you to collect/purchase and donate 10 needed non-perishable items for Made by Momma! It could be a CAN of food or something else that is non-perishable. (see the suggested list below)
2. Drop them off at the Made by Momma Resource Centre where they will be packed into hampers and/or used to prepare healthy freezer meals for our clients.
3. Invite as many of your friends to this event as you CAN! Get your friends and neighbours together, share with your service club, church and co-workers, get your kids & family involved – it is never too early nor too late to teach your kids kindness!
4. SHARE this event! Social media can make miracles happen!

How many CANs CAN we collect? We’ll keep track and keep this page up to date! Feel free to post photos of the CANs you have collected to inspire everyone! Please join our 10 CAN roundup challenge – it’s simple and easy to do; we have so many families that will greatly appreciate any and all donations. Remember, together we CAN make a difference! Let’s change someone’s life – right here; right now! Message us for a poster and set up a donation box to place wherever you are collecting your CANs!

Get Social & share a photo with us, and drop off your CANs to our resource centre by July 19th, 2024.

Rooftop Community Garden Project

Have you heard? We’ve got an amazing urban farm on the roof of Southcentre Mall! And we need your help to keep it growing!

This spring & summer, we will once again be growing fresh vegetables, herbs & fruit, and running a beehive program in support of our Made by Momma food programs.

Together with @southcentremall and @microhabitat.ca we are repurposing unused rooftop space to create a sustainable, local solution to contribute to the increasing demand for fresh, nutritious sources of food for Calgarians in need.

Canada does not have a food shortage problem – but we do have problem getting food into the hands of those who need it most! Single mothers are among the most vulnerable to food insecurity and that challenge is increased for Indigenous and racialized families.

Families in our community need our help more than ever! In just the first six weeks of 2024, 611 families have reached out for support with basic needs during times of adversity or crisis.

A continuous supply of healthy ingredients is needed to prepare the thousands of servings of meals for these families.

And this is where you come in. With your support, the funds raised through this campaign will help ensure that we have fresh produce to use in our healthy freezer meals and hampers, which nourish families when they need it most!

Holiday Delights at the Cookie Kitchen

Join the festive fun at the Made by Momma Cookie Kitchen this holiday season! From Nov. 15 to Dec. 24 at Southcentre Mall, you can decorate and enjoy holiday cookies for a $2.50 (minimum) donation per cookie. All proceeds go to Made by Momma’s essential programs, supporting families and women in need. Help us reach our goal of decorating 8,000 cookies and raising $20,000 by heading to Southcentre Mall! Be part of something special and bring joy to those facing challenges. 

We’re also seeking volunteers for greeting, collecting donations, and handing out cookies. Fill out the volunteer form to join the celebration!
